The IP (INGRESS PROTECTION) protection rating system is drafted by the IEC (International ELECTROTECHNICAL COMMISSION) to classify electrical appliances according to their dust and moisture resistance characteristics. IP protection level is composed of two numbers, the first number indicates the level of electrical dustproof and foreign intrusion (the foreign objects referred to here contain tools, human fingers, etc. can not touch the charged part of the electrical appliances to avoid electric shock), the second number indicates the degree of sealing of the electrical appliances against moisture and waterproof immersion, and the larger the number, the higher the protection level.
The protection level usually used for household appliances such as lamps and lanterns is IP54 (dustproof but no special protection against water or moisture), IP67 for wading appliances and parts (dustproof and short-term immersion in water will not be affected), IP68 is mostly used for underwater equipment cameras, mobile phones, cameras (dustproof and continue to immerse in water will not be affected). Whether to adopt IP67 or IP68 is determined by the actual application and different test standards.
